So there’s been much talk and excitement around the TENGA toys coming out of Japan. One could say that they’re the Japanese version of the Fleshlight only a third of the cost, and maybe a bit more complicated in design, of course. So I’m very excited to try this myself and see how the Japanese are getting off…

The packaging is fairly simple, a red and silver striped canister like sleeve…it reads TENGA – Engineered for a man’s sexual pleasure: Squeeze Play 8.0. The 8.0 refers to size, as there is another version, the 6.0 which is made smaller and meant for easier travel and portability. Included in the packaging is a preservative packet that reads Oxygen Absorber – Do not eat, Do not microwave, and a small instructional fold out that reads: Warning: Read all instructions inside carefully before using! There are 6 steps or instructions for use and an additional 13 other points to consider before using. Admittedly none of this is getting me excited, but let’s do our homework here, to maximize the benefits…

I’m going to carefully peel the package film back along the perforations to expose the end cap, removing the film entirely from the Squeeze Play model. It reveals a boring solid white canister. Next you peel off the small round sticker on the top to open the suction regulator… Now we’re talking!!! Remove the end cap and slowly penetrate the hole, ok, now we’re moving right along… Step 4 says: Enjoy the product through motion. You can experiment by moving it back and forth, rolling it, and covering and uncovering the suction regulator to create a variety of sensations.

The TENGA Squeeze Play is already lubricated inside and it is recommended that you don’t add any other lubricant to it…so here goes…I gotta do some work to get myself up and have a go at this. The opening, or orifice looks pretty non gender specific, which is pretty cool, a hole is a hole is a hole, right? Lastly, The TENGA Squeeze Play 8.0 is a disposable, single use, masturbation sleeve, but could be used several times provided you DO NOT shoot your load into the Tenga, as it’s not made to be taken apart, or cleaned, because there is a round piece of foam, which houses the lubricant in the tip of the sleeve, so if you shoot your wad into the Squeeze Play, well, it could get gross and your jizz could fester till you tried to play with it again, as well, the lubricant may dry up between play.

The Aphrodite Gallery is located at PASSIONAL Toys (620 South 5th Street) in the heart of the South Street business District.
